- A standard X-Grip kit and a Vibe-Safe kit are different products. Do not assume vibration damping is included.

- Check that your phone has a compatible Quad Lock case, or confirm the requirements of the universal adaptor.
- Choose the mount for the available attachment point: handlebar, mirror or fork stem.
- Check the exact kit contents before ordering. A case, vibration dampener and charging head are not necessarily included.

Which motorcycle phone mount should you choose?
Start with the attachment point and phone compatibility. RAM X-Grip suits riders comparing a cradle with different mounting bases; Quad Lock suits riders willing to use its compatible case or adaptor system. None of these descriptions establishes that the linked merchant kit fits your bike or protects your camera.
A secure holder and camera protection are separate questions. Apple advises against attaching an iPhone to high-power or high-volume motorcycle engines. For lower-amplitude vehicles, it recommends damping and avoiding prolonged regular exposure. A dampener is not a guarantee that your phone will avoid damage.
Comparing the two mounting systems
RAM X-Grip Motorcycle Phone Mount
The main decision is the combination of holder size and mounting base. Check the dimensions of your phone with its case on, then choose a base suited to the bike. RAM recommends a device tether for outdoor applications; follow the instructions for the exact kit.
For a concrete sizing example, RAM’s RAM-B-367-UN7U kit specifies a holder width of 1.875–3.25 inches and maximum depth of 0.875 inches. These limits apply to that kit’s holder, not every X-Grip. Its base uses an M8 bolt at a handlebar clamp; it is not a universal clamp that wraps around any bar. The existing Amazon link has not been verified as this exact kit, so use these specifications only when the seller identifies the same model.
Tradeoff: there are several components and sizes to match. Do not treat the standard cradle as a dedicated vibration-damping accessory.
Quad Lock Motorcycle Mount
Quad Lock connects a compatible case or adaptor to the mount. Check the case, mounting point and kit contents together. The brand recommends its vibration dampener for motorcycles; this does not replace the phone manufacturer’s guidance.
Quad Lock’s standard handlebar kit list includes the mount head, clamp, extension arm, spacers and tool; a case and dampener are not on that list. Retailer bundles can differ. Match the precise mount model and its bar range rather than transferring specifications between Standard, Pro and Large variants.
Tradeoff: the mount can be only one part of the purchase. A case and accessories can add to the total cost.
Checks before your first ride
- Compare the holder specification with the phone and case dimensions. Check that grips do not hold down buttons or block a charging port.
- Follow the exact mount’s installation instructions and fastener settings. With the bike stationary, check clearance at both steering locks, including cables, controls, tank and screen.
- Attach the supplied retention parts and check the locking mechanism before each ride. Stop safely before adjusting navigation or handling the phone.
- Check weather protection separately for the phone, case, cover and charging accessory. A holder does not make the whole setup waterproof.
Quad Lock warns that recording with the camera while riding can increase damage risk even with its dampener installed. Do not treat a navigation mount as a guaranteed safe camera-recording rig. If you want to avoid exposing your main phone to handlebar vibration, consider audio directions with the phone stowed securely, or a dedicated navigation device suited to motorcycle use.

Common questions
Will a universal mount fit my phone?
Not necessarily. Measure the phone with its case fitted and compare those dimensions with the exact holder specification. Check that the grips clear buttons and ports.
Does a phone mount protect against rain?
A holder is not automatically a weatherproof enclosure. Check the protection offered by the phone, case and any cover separately.
Does a vibration dampener eliminate camera risk?
Do not assume it does. Read your phone manufacturer’s advice and the accessory’s stated limitations.
